Within this varied role, you’ll combine your excellent customer service skills with coordinating, investigating, and accurately responding to Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and other GDPR-related requests and enquiries received, in line with LV= policies and UK regulations.
You’ll manage your workload effectively and always maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
This role is offered on a fixed-term basis of 6 months.
While we can offer some flexibility, this is mainly an office-based role, in which you’d be working from our Bournemouth office five days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of DSAR and GDPR requests, in line with business policies.
- Contacting individuals by phone to initially discuss their requests, advising them accurately on what we can do to help them.
- Sending updates and outcomes via letters, calls, or emails.
- Liaising with relevant business areas to request information required to help with cases.
- Redacting data in line with data protection rules and regulations.
- Understanding and applying appropriate exemptions where applicable and confirming these clearly via customer correspondence.
- Identifying and escalating any concerns or breaches to the Data Protection Office.
- Ensuring data requests are dealt with securely, minimising the risk of breaches through interaction with Information Security and DPO.
- Managing, sorting and/or redirecting incoming post, and responding to emails.
- Supporting and guiding colleagues in other business areas with DSAR recognition, handling and regulations.
- Supporting the Data Protection Office when required with MI and other information.
- Building strong working relationships with internal stakeholders (Customer Experience, Sales Distribution, Product etc.)
About You
Our ideal candidate will…
- Ideally have some knowledge of the UK GDPR legislation and the Data Protection Act 2018 or have experience of working within a role where GDPR was a high priority (desirable but not essential).
- Understand the DSAR process to ensure a smooth customer experience (desirable but not essential, provided there is a willingness to learn).
- Be able to handle sensitive, confidential information in line with the Data Protection Act and ICO guidelines.
- Consistently demonstrate excellent attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.
- Be a conscientious, trustworthy individual who will do the right thing for the business and customers.
- Possess excellent communication and listening skills.
- Be able to recognise vulnerable customers and ensure they are assisted appropriately.
- Comfortably work independently without continuous supervision, while also being a proactive and supportive team member.
- Demonstrate a good working knowledge of computer programmes such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Adobe.
- Be able to deliver the results of your findings in a clear, concise manner, and be able to discuss the reasons behind each decision.
- Have prior experience processing DSARs (desirable but not essential).
- Have prior experience of using Respond and/or Dropbox (desirable but not essential).
