We have a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join us as a Senior Finance Systems Manager.
This role is offered on a 12-month fixed-term basis, with full-time hours (35 per week).
The successful candidate will be required to work in the office for two days per week and be able to work either from home or the office (whichever is preferred) for the remaining three working days.
Within this exciting, unique role, you will own the strategy of, and be ultimately accountable for, the full suite of Financial & Actuarial systems and interfaces used across the LV= Finance function.
As well as owning the support, maintenance and development for our core corporate accounting platform (Oracle EBS) and all other relevant sub modules, you’ll oversee all other systems required to support the full range of key departmental processes, including the following areas:
- Accounting & Reconciliations
- Actuarial Reporting
- Collections/Payments Banking
- Capital, Investments & Unit Pricing
- Tax.
The successful candidate will act as an interface between Finance and LV= Technology Services, advising Finance senior management on IT issues and ensuring that Finance requirements are appropriately met during any company-wide technology projects or initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include…
- Developing departmental plans, control resources and policy formulation, and providing input to functional strategy.
- Leading an effective, motivated, and competent team to deliver high-quality services and meet deadlines.
- Providing guidance and technical support to the Finance Executive.
- Developing the departmental technology strategy and shaping our systems landscape.
- Acting as a technical owner of our Finance systems, to include Oracle and its sub-modules, Finastra Fusion, CheckPrint & Banking Assist, banking portals, Insight and Prophet, plus more!
- Leading the team responsible for the support and administration of relevant Finance systems, configuration/setup, controls, audit and recertification.
- Coordinating and escalating between CIO/Hex and system vendors.
- Oracle EBS Database Administration (DBA) and system support.
- Leading the technical development and change teams maintaining the relevant Finance systems, including delivery and maintenance of all required system upgrades, interfaces etc
- System testing and coordination of User Acceptance Testing.
- Identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement.
- Acting as a Technical Lead, supporting the delivery of all relevant LV= projects that impact finance systems.
- Ensuring compliance with all LVTS Change Management policies.
- Taking accountability for all relevant Finance systems, ensuring that they are operated within our risk appetite framework, and that all internal/external audit requests are met.
- Acting as the Business Continuity representative for Finance, ensuring that we have a concrete plan and that Disaster Recovery tests of all Finance systems are carried out within the required timeframes.
About You
Our ideal candidate will…
- Be a fully or partially qualified Accountant, with an excellent understanding of accounting principles, and how these relate to accounting system analysis and design (or be otherwise qualified by significant experience in systems development, in a Financial Services environment).
- Have obtained relevant IT or Programming qualifications.
- Demonstrate expert Functional and Technical knowledge of Oracle Financials R12, specifically 12.2.
- Understand Oracle Financials modules AP, AR, FA, FAH, GL, PO and XTR, including complex system setup parameters, profile options, etc.
- Showcase in-depth knowledge and experience of unit pricing processes and procedures, and familiarity of external trading via online portals and the automation of settlements.
- Be familiar with BACS payment processing software such as Microgen, have experience of cheque-processing applications, and interaction with Oracle Financials.
- Have a solid knowledge of PL-SQL, Unix and sFTP concepts, and in-depth knowledge of specialist tools such as TOAD, DATALOAD, Core FTP, PuTTy, Workflow Builder and J-Developer.
- Possess strong knowledge of Oracle reporting tools such as Oracle Discoverer and BIP.
- Have advanced Excel, MS Power Apps and Power Tools knowledge and skills - including the ability to develop and manage full transaction to reporting value chains.
