Due to expansion, we have a fantastic opportunity for two professional, highly-organised individuals to join our Equity Release Underwriting Team on a permanent basis.
This role can be based at either our Hitchin or Bournemouth offices, with a minimum of one day required in an office per week (you will be required to attend the office more regularly until you are fully trained).
Within this fast-paced, interesting role, you will review valuations and make risk-based decisions in line with the LV= Equity Release Lending Policy.
Key Accountabilities
- Carefully and confidently reviewing and actioning underwriting applications, making balanced business decisions.
- Providing support to the Sales and Operational teams, clearly articulating underwriting rationale and outcomes.
- Liaising with surveyors and advisers to gather important information that is relevant to the case.
- Understanding how individual underwriting decisions impact both customer outcomes and business risk appetite, and consistently applying this knowledge to your daily work.
- Providing updates to customers and relevant third parties in a timely and professional manner.
- Managing your workload effectively and independently, while providing support to the wider team where possible.
About You
Our ideal candidate will…
- Have previous experience of working in equity release underwriting (desirable).
- Be an independent thinker, able to take initiative and manage workload competently.
- Have a keen eye for detail, with the ability to ask questions and think laterally.
- Have experience of working to meet deadlines and KPIs.
- Be a fantastic communicator, with the ability to build trust and rapport, listen to important information and provide accurate and relevant updates to customers and relevant third parties.
- Contribute to our culture of continuous improvement, bringing your ideas and contributions forward in a clear and respectful manner.
- Focus on consistently creating a positive and smooth customer experience.
