About the role
We are looking for two experienced UAT leads to work with us on a six-month fixed term contract within a large programme of change in the Protection business.
To lead design, approach and execution of User Acceptance Testing within a Programme, one role to lead on the new business workstream and a second role to lead on the migration workstream.
You will have responsibility for directing and supporting SMEs performing UAT during the testing phase of the development life cycle, working across appropriate project methodologies.
They will work closely with key customers to meet and set expectations, have strong leadership, people and motivation skills. You will also be working with several third parties in the defect management and reporting.
Work must be complete to high standards of quality and performance, developed using defined tools within existing testing methodologies and delivered within agreed timescales. All work must be guided by corporate CIO test strategy and subject to peer and management review.
We have 2 roles to fill BOTH are 6-month fixed Term Contracts, starting in January.
New Business role will need to work in our Exeter offices 3 days per week.
Business migration role could work out of either the Bournemouth or Exeter offices 3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
• Work with key stakeholders in the Protection business to design and develop an overall UAT approach– covering UAT and regression.
• Responsible for managing business testing resources during the Test Preparation and execution phases of the projects.
• Able to analyse and solve a range of requirements and problems and guide their team in following the correct procedures and processes to help resolution.
• Sets priorities for UAT, tracks tasks through to completion and is accountable for the performance and delivery of UAT.
• To effectively communicate UAT progress, risks and issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Produce high quality Test planning, estimation and Test Closure documentation – also QA of these to ensure consistency and high standards met.
• The role is typically more hands-off to actual testing but may support test execution if required.
• Monitor, coach, and manage performance of team members to achieve agreed objectives for test deliverables and personal development within the context of supporting the overall business plan.
• Pro-active around Test Process & Quality Assurance continuous improvement.
Skills & Experience
• Experience of testing within the Life Protection business would be preferable. Otherwise experience of leading UAT within large programmes.
• Clear thinker with excellent communications and presentation skills, to be able to inform and persuade both orally and in writing.
• Dynamic and self-motivated style, with energy and ability to deliver at pace and drive change. Proven ability to work using own initiative and prioritise a wide range of time-critical activities.
• Significant attention to detail and strong capability to assess and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and ability to complete projects and keep to deadlines. Excellent analytical skill set.
• Effective organisational skills - to include a high level of PC literacy.
• Prior knowledge of or ability to understand and learn testing software packages such as quality centre.
• Able to suggest and communicate well thought out solutions that deliver greater business benefit.
• Understands impacts of requirements across Heritage and can effectively communicate the implications.
• Demonstrable experience of testing - ISTQB Certified Tester: Foundation level – Preferable.
• Proven aptitude to monitor, coach, and lead performance of teams to achieve agreed objectives for project deliverables and personal development..
